Kava Club
Kava Club is Richmond’s first non-alcoholic bar that specialized in Kava cocktails. We were tasked with envisioning the design of their interior, from empty space, to functional buzzy business.
PLANNING — Beginning with floor plans and mood boards, we led the project to source and custom-build a variety of fixed and variable-use spaces within Kava Club. With a focus on soft natural textures and energetic shocks of color, the space came together over 6 months. Spearheaded by artist and project lead, Tommy Fox, we salvaged and restored materials were used where appropriate, and focus was given to the fine finished tactile quality and optical impact of interior treatments.
RESULT — Taking the creative vision of owner, Fred Bryant, we synthesized the brand’s ethos into a space that reflected its playful and explorative values. The finished product was a dynamic multi-use space that offered light fare and bespoke NA Kava cocktails, while hosting everything from book clubs and live performances, to ceramics workshops.
